From 14 to 17 July, Polo CLEVER and Environment Park took part in a mission to Algeria organised as part of Precision Mechanics Go Green, a Euro-Mediterranean project funded by the European Union through a cascade funding call under the Euromed Clusters Forward project, coordinated by ANIMA Investment Network and managed by Berytech.
The mission provided an important opportunity for dialogue with the initiative’s partner clusters, the Cluster Mécanique de Précision Algérie and the Green Energy Cluster, strengthening institutional and industrial ties while fostering new opportunities for collaboration between the Italian and Algerian innovation ecosystems.
One of the highlights of the mission was the meeting with the National School of Advanced Technologies (ENSTA), which underscored the strong potential for collaboration between academia and industry. The discussions laid the foundations for future student and researcher exchange programmes, as well as for a structured partnership focused on the development of sustainable technological solutions involving ENSTA, Environment Park and the Italian companies represented by Polo CLEVER.
Another key moment of the mission was the visit to the facilities of SOMEMI Plus, an Algerian company specialising in precision engineering, which gave the delegation first-hand insight into the company’s infrastructure, production facilities and manufacturing capabilities. A particularly valuable exchange then took place between representatives of SOMEMI Plus, Environment Park, present in Algeria, and FT FAMAT, a Polo CLEVER member company that joined the meeting remotely. Rich in technical insights and opportunities for future development, the discussion laid the foundations for the creation of sustainable and innovative commercial solutions involving the three organisations.
This mission is a tangible example of the value of international cooperation projects in creating opportunities for dialogue between companies, research organisations and clusters. By fostering the development of industrial and technological partnerships, it contributes to strengthening, step by step, the commercial and innovation bridge between Italy and Algeria.
The path initiated during the mission confirms the Euro-Mediterranean vocation of Precision Mechanics Go Green and paves the way for the development of the first joint initiatives between partners on both sides of the Mediterranean, with the aim of ensuring that the collaboration continues well beyond the project’s completion.
