Precision Mechanics Go Green: Italy and Algeria Together for Industrial Sustainability

On May 4–5, 2026, CLEVER welcomed a delegation of Algerian companies interested in building international connections between green industrial ecosystems.
The mission is part of Precision Mechanics Go Green, a Euro-Mediterranean project funded by the European Union through a cascade call launched by Euromed Clusters Forward. The project aims to promote more sustainable industrial development by integrating circular economy principles and green technologies.

Following the initial analysis of needs and Euro-Mediterranean value chains, a more operational matchmaking phase was launched, culminating in two days of meetings and conferences:

MAY 4 – ENVIPARK

In the morning, a conference was held featuring experts in manufacturing and technologies enabling the decarbonization of processes and products, followed by targeted B2B meetings between companies associated with CLEVER and Algerian companies belonging to the Green Energy Cluster Algeria and Cluster Mécanique de Précision Algérie clusters, both project partners.

Among the speakers, Stefano Gallinaro from EIT Manufacturing presented best practices in sustainable manufacturing; Politecnico di Torino representative Paolo Chiabert discussed smart management of production processes; Mattia Miglietta from Envipark focused on plasma technologies for decarbonization; while Raffaele Ciardiello shared his expertise on remanufacturing strategies for thermoplastic automotive components.
Finally, Ruggero Zen from CEIPIEMONTE and Stefano Gallinaro provided an overview of internationalization and investment attraction opportunities in Piedmont and Europe respectively; Sergio Ravera from Envipark shared best practices from the European project MC0, which supports manufacturing companies in their decarbonization journey.

MAY 5 – CUNEO, MICHELIN PLANT

Participation in the event “Data, AI, Decisions: Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Companies”, organized by the Sistema Poli Piemonte and hosted by CIM4.0 at the plant of Michelin Italiana S.p.A.. Companies, research organizations, and clusters contributed to the discussion by sharing their experiences on the use of artificial intelligence across different industrial sectors and its role in accelerating business growth.
The delegation concluded the mission with a visit to FT Famat, a company associated with CLEVER specializing in automation solutions, presented by its Engineering Manager, Ivan Vazzoler.
