The BIOFIDS project (Photobioreactor for BIOlogical DeSulfurization of bIogas) aims to transfer technology from an ENEA patent through the realization of a prototype plant based on the process of anoxygenic photosynthesis operated by Green Sulphur Bacteria (GSB) through which H2S is oxidized to elemental sulfur in the presence of light.
The collaboration between companies and ODRs will ensure the technological transfer of the proposed system, allowing industrial partners to acquire and consolidate knowledge gained through experimental activities and to overcome technical and logistical limitations for the implementation and industrial scale up of the systems developed in the Research Centers.
