L’obiettivo del progetto è di sviluppare materiali da costruzione innovativi e di sperimentarli in campi prova e tratti sperimentali di strada aperta al traffico ordinario. Trattasi di miscele di misto granulare riciclato stabilizzato mediante l’aggiunta di liquidi alcalini. Ciò consente di sfruttare le proprietà delle particelle allumino-silicatiche più fini di questi materiali, che in ambiente alcalino si attivano e formano legami in grado di stabilizzare il materiale stesso. Il materiale così ottenuto è impiegabile nella formazione di strati stabilizzati (base, fondazione, sottofondo) di pavimentazioni stradali.
The INTREC project will provide a strong boost to the entrepreneurial initiatives of the applicant, as well as generate significant technological and scientific impacts for both the applicant and the Research Organization involved. The following outcomes can reasonably be expected:
a. Innovation in materials (stabilized mixtures with aggregates and binders from recycled sources) to be developed during the project, which could boost the use of recycled aggregates from C&D waste in the construction market;
b. Development of the most suitable laying technique capable of optimally homogenizing the aggregate with the liquids required to activate the alkaline activation process;
c. Innovations in equipment for their laying (including the possibility of mixing recycled aggregates and alkaline liquids directly in the mixing chamber of stabilizing machines – Pulvimixer);
d. Characterization and eco-compatibility (leaching tests) of the products through on-site and laboratory testing of the raw materials and the final product
